All of these answers and info is very helpful but mine is a little diff question-I had backed up my O/S and everything else from my R50e Thinkpad onto an external HDD prior to trying to update the Bios which then caused the password lockup. Can anyone tell me where on the HDD to look for the password that will unlock my Thinkpad?

I am running a website that offers thinkpad password removal for £25 not including post and packing.
This saves you the hassle of disassembly and reassembly.
If anyone is interested visit www.thinkpadunlock.com for more details

I tried so many times I lost my mind... I never get the system functional, always getting "Eeprom not available". I soldered the circuit again but nothing. Is it really important to connect before ground and only later SDA and SCL? Cause if the wired are soldered how can I connect them in a specific order? They're just soldered there!

May sound silly but how is it possible that so many people wind up with TPs of which they don’t have the Supervisor password.
